Need You Now; By: Beth Wiseman

This book revolves around Darlene, her husband Brad, their three kids and their recent move from big city Houston to small town Round Top. Darlene’s always been a stay at home mom, but now that her kids are getting older she decides she wants to get a job and have some extra spending money. She gets hired as a teacher’s aide at a school for special needs children. During her time at the school she develops a unique bond with one of her students and inadvertently gets a bit too close to the student’s father. After a few weeks of working, Darlene discovers that one of her daughters is having a hard time coping with the move and has taken to harming herself. Darlene leaves her job and faces the task of keeping her marriage together, making sure her daughter gets the appropriate help, and helping her movie star next door neighbor through some difficult times. I thought this book was beautifully written and did a great job touching the issues of everyday life…even issues that people don’t like to talk about. The end of the book had me in tears and heard somewhere that there will be second book to this series. I sure hope so because I can’t wait to read it! 1. Nice review. I really enjoyed this book as well. Beth Wiseman writes fearlessly with the stresses and struggles that are an inevitable part of a marriage and raising children--yet offers hope in the face of those challenges. She doesn't shy away from letting the characters in this book face some problems and difficult questions. I think many readers will be able to relate to this book, and be comforted by the fact that they are not the only ones who struggle.
